RadShare® is a combination of philosophies and technologies that provide a comprehensive community radiology solution.
Rays created RadShare to help cluster small medical facilities to provide onsite radiology care without the expense of a full-time radiologist. The RadShare service can be applied wholly or in part to medium and large facilities, too. RadShare includes using Rays to provide, manage, train, compensate, and overread a traveling radiologist who would visit each of the small facilities providing on-site radiology services such as:
- General radiology – Plain film, Ultrasound, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine
- Procedures – Biopsies, Barium work, Breast ultrasound, Diagnostic mammography,
- Leadership – Hospital meetings, clinician consults, tech QA, Medical Director, Nuclear Medicine license, HIPAA officer
Meanwhile, Rays also provides the following to RadShare clients:
- General radiology
- Subspecialty radiology
- Technology
- Radiology management
- Reporting
- Billing
- In-House Services
- Marketing
RadShare also allows the opportunity for various radiology groups to work together by sharing professional resources such as subspecialty work and overflow work. This service, known as Diffuse, gives facilities the chance to control which of their studies are presented for external interpretation and which external studies they read. This is distinguished from a setup where all cases are fair game across a system and subsequently individual facilities may feel either robbed of studies or overloaded. With Diffuse, studies are voluntarily offered and pulled from a separate worklist. Studies not interpreted by a group in the cluster within a set period of time are not orphaned, but rather are then interpreted by Rays. This allows internal work balancing.
Additional benefits of RadShare include combining billing to allow for deeper discounts for collections, pooling of RIS/PACS resources, and unifying credentialing and licensing. Representative Rays radiologists are available to interface between prospective radiology group leaders and administration to serve both groups.
Through RadShare, a number of major goals are achieved:
- Potential significant cost savings by unifying teleradiology coverage across many radiology groups
- Reduction of costs by eliminating routine double reads by offering 24/7 final reads
- Significant cost savings using the Rays Technical System
